Young In Spirit Seniors (YISS)

Thanks to our neighbors across the street at Union Presbyterian for allowing us to use their hall for our October meeting. We got a lot done. We had many fleece throws donated. Thank you, donors! The officers, except for the secretary, agreed to serve another year since the past year was so short. Nominations are open for that position. Next on the agenda was the Christmas Party & Pick-a-Prize Raffle. Please bring donations at the November meeting. Some suggestions were gift cards, alcoholic beverages & home made treats. Our next monthly meeting, hopefully in Brodnick Hall, will be on November 12. Our speaker at the meeting was Hans Engelhardt with important information about Medicare, emphasizing reviewing your coverage each year. Shannon, the PR director, went over the free educational offerings being presented at the Crescent Insurance office, check out their website. They also had a drawing for a couple of tote bags with water bottles. Darlene Holden & Tina Kentley were the lucky winners. Next month Scarlett Fowler will explain the services available from Palliative Care & Hospice. Dessert will be provided. Come join us to be informed & enjoy socializing.
