We had wonderful news at our monthly luncheon meeting on August 11 when Paula Votel announced the proceeds from the Yard Sale booth. The final total is still being worked on, but we are looking at approximately $5000 to be donated to the Shaluka Project. Thanks to all who helped with organizing, donations, pricing, selling and buying! A lot of energy expended but the people of Zambia are so grateful to get clean water. Faye Gosney, Secretary and Pat Tenbrink, Treasurer have agreed to serve again in 2027 and Kathy Spaulding, Vice President will move into the President’s position so nominations for Vice President will be accepted in October with election at the November meeting. Please think about serving! Reminder: due to the Boone County Senior Picnic on September 9, our normal luncheon date, we will not have a meeting. Our next gathering will be on October 14. The menu will feature beef & noodles with green beans & rolls & buttter. Cost is $16. The speaker will be Hans Englehardt of Crescent Insurance who will Make Medicare Make Sense.
