Young In Spirit Seniors (YISS) – Thanks to the Bunnyfest, we were greeted with lovely spring decorations on the tables. The meeting was called to order at 11 AM and we celebrated some birthdays and a wedding anniversary. As far as new business goes, we all agreed to have Smokin’ This And That cater our annual picnic in July. This is free to all enrolled members. Rebecca Julick then took us behind the scenes of a Veterans Honor Flight. She explained that any sponsorships or donations are used for the veteran, they are all volunteers! If you are a veteran, do not miss the opportunity to participate in this meaningful experience. It’s easy to apply, just go to www.honorflighttristate.org. All veterans 65 and over are eligible. The food committee has scheduled our Pizza Party at our meeting on May 13. No cost to members, guests are $15. You get a lot for your dues in this club! With the warmer weather coming on, people are thinking about their gardens. Robbie Brockman, Horticulture Agent at Boone County Extension, will be sharing ornamental gardening tips with us that day.
