SUMMARY:The Rite of Entrance into the Catechumenate  and Welcoming of the Candidates
DESCRIPTION:As the OCIA Coordinator at St. Timothy since 2020\, the Team and I have realized that not all parishioners really understand the various Rites involved in the OCIA program. We currently have 20 adults\, 11 teens and about 10 children all preparing to come into the church this Easter! Hopefully this article will help you appreciate the process and support those seeking to enter into full communion in the church. \nThe Rite of Entrance into the Catechumenate and Welcoming of the Candidates will occur at the9:30 Mass on Sunday\, Nov. 30. This Rite is the beginning of the faith journey of those wishing to be received into the order of catechumen (those not baptized) or candidate (those who have been baptized in accordance with the Church). This ceremonial Rite begins with the catechumens and candidates waiting just outside the doors of the Church. After the opening song\, entrance procession\, and greeting\, they begin knocking on the doors. This is symbolic of asking for help on this journey\, seeking to become closer to Him\, and knocking\, and the door will be opened. At the invitation of our Pastor\, Fr. Bolte\, they enter and stand just inside the doors behind the baptismal font with their sponsors. Fr. Bolte invites the church community to welcome these catechumens and candidates\, pray for them\, and support them in their initiation into the Christian faith by Baptism\, Confirmation\, and Eucharist. \nWe\, as parishioners\, are obligated to share our faith according to our apostolic abilities. By celebrating this Rite during a Sunday Mass\, we can encourage and support these catechumens and candidates on their faith journey and commitment to the Church. \nPlease help us support them and pray for them. It is a wonderful way to begin the season of Advent!

DESCRIPTION:Many of us have children who are struggling to embrace their Catholic faith or have left the church entirely. Like St. Monica\, as women we persevere in prayer for their joyful return to full unity with the Catholic Church. Millions of Monicas\, a nationwide prayer ministry was created for mothers in this situation. We are not a support group and do not share sensitive information. We believe that by coming together monthly and uniting our hearts and voices praying together\, we can bring strength and joy to each other. We want to encounter God through prayer for ourselves and our children. Join us if you are a mother\, grandmother\, stepmother\, Godmother\, aunt\, etc. to pray and grow in holiness and humility for our children’s faithful return to the Catholic faith. DESCRIPTION:Young In Spirit Seniors (YISS) – It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas at our last meeting as donations poured in for our Pick-a-Prize raffle at our Annual Christmas Party on December 10 in BRODNICK HALL. Lots of interesting items! All proceeds will be donated to the Parish Kitchen Charity. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5. Set up will be on Tuesday December 9 at 2:30 in the hall\, anyone willing to come & help will be welcomed. Any questions\, contact Leda Fide at 859-250-7322. At our November meeting we voted to make Rose Garden our charity for 2026 and also voted in Faye Gosney as Secretary. We also held a free raffle for three Fall decor items which were won by Darlene Holden\, Michelle Kyde & Faye Gosney. Our speaker was Starlette Fowler from Bluegrass Care Navigators who shared valuable information about Hospice & Palliative Care. She can be reached at 859-441-6332 for additional information. The menu for the party will be ham\, au gratin potatoes\, veggie medley\, salad\, rolls & butter! Sounds yummy.
