SUMMARY:Young In Spirit Seniors (YISS)
DESCRIPTION:Brodnick Hall looked very festive with seasonal decorations for our annual Christmas party. Kathy Spaulding tested our drawing ability with a fun game and rewarded the most talented with prizes and Linda Leander entertained us with a poem reading that caused many chuckles. After a delicious ham dinner we held the Pick-A-Prize raffle. There were 47 items\, so many people were winners. The funds that were raised plus those in the charity account resulted in a $1\,000 donation to our annual charity\, the Parish Kitchen. Thanks to all\, and there were many\, who helped in this endeavor. Next year we will be supporting Rose Garden Home Mission which is a pregnancy care center. Our next meeting will be on January 14. Stephanie Croswait announced that meals will still be catered by Chef Barrone but the cost will be increased $1 to $16. At our November meeting we voted to make Rose Garden our charity for 2026 and also voted in Faye Gosney as Secretary. We also held a free raffle for three Fall decor items which were won by Darlene Holden\, Michelle Kyde & Faye Gosney. DESCRIPTION:Many of us have children who are struggling to embrace their Catholic faith or have left the church entirely. Like St. Monica\, as women we persevere in prayer for their joyful return to full unity with the Catholic Church. Millions of Monicas\, a nationwide prayer ministry was created for mothers in this situation. We are not a support group and do not share sensitive information. We believe that by coming together monthly and uniting our hearts and voices praying together\, we can bring strength and joy to each other. We want to encounter God through prayer for ourselves and our children. Join us if you are a mother\, grandmother\, stepmother\, Godmother\, aunt\, etc. to pray and grow in holiness and humility for our children’s faithful return to the Catholic faith. DESCRIPTION:Thanks to our neighbors across the street at Union Presbyterian for allowing us to use their hall for our October meeting. We got a lot done. We had many fleece throws donated. Thank you\, donors! The officers\, except for the secretary\, agreed to serve another year since the past year was so short. Nominations are open for that position. Next on the agenda was the Christmas Party & Pick-a-Prize Raffle. Please bring donations at the November meeting. Some suggestions were gift cards\, alcoholic beverages & home made treats. Our next monthly meeting\, hopefully in Brodnick Hall\, will be on November 12. They also had a drawing for a couple of tote bags with water bottles. Darlene Holden & Tina Kentley were the lucky winners.
